Small Business Saturday!

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Don't forget to support one of your favorite local businesses, Urban Alchemist,  this holiday season!

This Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year.

On November 26, we're asking millions of people to shop small at their favorite local stores and help fuel the economy. When we all shop small, it will be huge.

Love Sugar Design is made up of husband and wife team Nicole and Jimmy Chung.  This talented couple lives in Miami and recently sent us an array of adorable typographic and illustrated prints in time for the holidays.  Some of the details are subtle and may not show as well in the images, so come in in person to check them out.   These are all on 8.5x11 sheets and will fit into a standard frame.   If you want to tell someone how special they are to you, one of these prints is a great way to do it...  all Love Sugar Prints are $24.

Urban Alchemist is proud to offer Re-Imagined Movie Posters by Claudia Varosio.  Claudia is a Londoner (as in, the capital of England) who creates her own illustrations for these awesome posters.  Some of my all-time FAVORITE movies are included such as Donnie Darko, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bladerunner, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, China Town,  and Rocky Horror, among others.  We've only got one of each of 18 different movies, so come get your favorite before it's gone!  All posters are 12x18" and professionally printed on premium archival paper with water- and fade-resistant pigments.

Mid-Century & Modern Topiary Prints by Linda Ketelhut

We just received some great new prints this week from Linda Ketelhut, a former NY resident now living in Austin, TX.  Her mid-century inspired geometric and nature-inspired prints are fun, colorful, dramatic, and retro-modern.  Linda uses a combination of fabrics, wood, gouache, and digital manipulation to create her unique look.  They're just too cool for words so we'll let the images speak for themselves.  Prints start at $32 and a set of 6 postcards is only $14.  We don't have that many so snatch them up before they disappear!

Fresh, Funky Fashion from Malca BK

Ronnie is a fashion designer and Genevieve is a painter, and together they make Malca BK, a line of incredibly unique hand-painted clothing which we're proud to carry here at Urban Alchemist.   They brought over some new inventory today and my biggest problem is deciding which piece i like best!  We've got tunics and tanks, dresses, leggings, and skirts all in various color and sizes in materials like silk, organic cotton, and bamboo.   Because the pieces are painted by hand, no two are identical but these images will give you the idea... stop by soon and check out these beautiful pieces in person!
