Seldon Yuan's work creates visual poems via "filters" or "lenses" placed between the viewer and the object viewed. Utilizing simple tools such as mirrors and clear mylar, Yuan sets up layered poetic moments where the abstract and figural interplay and the things we don't talk about are examined.

Malka BK

An embrace of all things supernatural, Malca BK is a new line of whimsical and one-of-a-kind creations, that unites the passion and vision of designers Ronnie Yoked and Genevieve McClendon.  A Brooklyn-based women's clothing label, Malca BK specializes in one-of-a-kind women's clothing.  Each piece is handmade and hand-painted/ hand-dyed.  Malca BK also works with screenprinting and felting in producing their textiles and prints and work primarily with natural fibers.  

Malca BK can recreate any of the pieces in their collection with different fabrication, color, painting/print and/or size.

Alice Yim

We've picked up another wonderful designer, Alice Yim!  Alice draws much of her inspiration from nature. Elements from the ocean, moonlight and the resulting spectrum of colors inspire her.  Check out the newest fashions to come through the doors of Urban Alchemist.

Here at UA we're really feeling the tribal theme sweeping over us like the summer heat.  Thus, we bring you necklaces by Andrea Bocchio, Feather Earring from Apartment 4B and Tribal bracelets by Eswera.  Plus Wax Print!  Wax print line totes by Apartment 4B, wax print and skirts and bangles by I*M*Handmade and handmade stuffed animals by Alison Alison:

Flossie Fern at Urban Alchemist

Flossie Fern is the newest addition to Urban Alchemist, bringing us wonderful bath and body products with essential oils that we can't seem to keep our hands off of (no seriously as soon as they arrived I bought one of everything)!   Jenica (the trained herbalist behind Flossie Fern) named her product line after her great-grandmother, Florence Fern. She uses all organic ingredients in her products and all of her fragrances are made from pure essential oils, nothing else. She never uses synthetic preservatives, believing in the preservative powers of the essential oils themselves.

Meet Our Newest Coop Member, Danielle of Reshape Studio!

Danielle is a Brooklyn based designer who is often inspired by reinterpreting objects in new or unexpected ways. After getting a degree in product design from Parsons School of Design, she worked as a corporate furniture designer before realizing that she missed getting her hands dirty. She now works with clay, mostly slip-casting handmade ceramics, out of her Brooklyn studio.
